Algeria loses 3-0 to host Ireland

World Cup-bound Algeria suffered a 3-0 defeat to Ireland in a football exhibition Friday night in Dublin.

The Algerians under coach Rabah Saadane were held scoreless by the Irish national team.

Ireland's Paul Green posted what would be a durable lead with a goal in the 31st minute. Team-mate Robbie Keane tacked on an insurance score six minutes into the second half and added insult to injury by converting a penalty kick in the 89th minute.

Ahead of its third World Cup appearance, Algeria now heads to a training camp in Herzogenaurach, Germany, home of sporting goods giants Adidas and Puma. When play starts next month in South Africa, Algeria is slotted into Group C with Slovenia, England and the United States.
